Getting past the BIOS:
On the Compaq Presario 5430US, you must change the hardware configuration, boot, save the changes, and then boot again to automatically boot from a CD and get past the grub bootloader

Installing the network functions on Solaris:
Select the network version of solaris when installing.
Make sure a network cable is plugged into the computer. (The installation will fail otherwise)
